It’s time to plan a vacation and I’m excited! Ok, we’re not going to Hawaii like lucky Jenn, but we are getting away for a few days next month because we haven’t gone anywhere since our Honeymoon and it’s way past due.

With Joe’s job up in the air and mine not affording much leeway for acceptable days to miss, we were thinking something within driving distance. Some place we haven’t been before that has interesting sights. We chose Indianapolis because it’s a three and a half hour drive away and has a zoo! And you know how I feel about zoos: “I love ’em, I love ’em, I love ’em!”

I’m not sure what else we’ll be doing while we’re there, but I’m open to suggestions. What I really need help on is deciding where to eat and sleep. Those two seem to be much more difficult to pin down than where to have fun. Although I’m thinking a dinner at St. Elmo’s is a necessity from what I’ve already read so far. Now we just need a dive that all the locals love to off-set the cost of the steakhouse meal. :)

So who has been to Indianapolis and would like to share some tips? We’re going early July, so you have some time. In the meantime I’ll be checking Trip Advisor and Yelp for ideas. I’m getting excited just thinking about it. I love visiting new places.

I’ve never been to Indianapolis, but it does look like a pretty city!

Trying to find time off can be hard, huh? I just added up all my vacation time that I’ll have by the time we leave for Hawaii and I have a whopping 3 HOURS extra that I can use between now and then. LOL I originally planned out all my vacations with the big one in December, but now that it’s canceled I have nearly 3 months less to accumulate leave.
