We took a ride into the city this morning … our destination was Montrose Point, because I read that it’s the place to go if you want to see migrating birds in the Fall and Spring. Unfortunately, we left our map at home and ended up at Foster Beach instead. Not a big deal … I have a feeling we wouldn’t have seen many migrating birds today anyway … it was just too nice out. We sat by the water for awhile, just taking it all in. I told Joe that I would love to live on a beach because I can’t resist the sound of waves; they are the ultimate in relaxation for me.

We also lucked out and found free parking by Lincoln Park Zoo. We walked around a bit, and also went into the Lincoln Park Conservatory. I’ve been wanting to go to the zoo for awhile now, but our plans kept falling through. I was a bit disappointed in the zoo, though. I think after visiting all the zoos we have in the past year that I’ve become spoiled, and Lincoln Park just doesn’t do it for me anymore. Don’t get me wrong – I think it’s a great zoo, especially considering that it’s free. I just like some of the other zoos we’ve been to where the animals’ habitats are more true to life, not to mention designed so that people can get closer to them and get good photos.

We got back to our neck of the woods mid-afternoon for lunch at Noodles & Company. I tried the Indonesian Peanut Saute which was spicy, but good. However, I got tired of the flavor quickly, so I switched dishes with Joe. He had ordered the Buttered Noodles & Parmesan which I highly recommend.

Since then we’ve just been hanging out and watching tv. We rented The Italian Job, which was good. Now we’re watching The Cubs game. They have been kicking Florida’s ass. I’m really enjoying watching baseball right now. Muhahaha!

Here’s a link to today’s photos. Enjoy!
