Hosting Morons

I love it when my site is down for two hours and I email support about it and they tell me, “It was more like an hour”. First of all, do you think it’s more acceptable if it’s down for an hour compared to two? Second of all, if I check my site @ 1pm and it’s still down at 3pm, I’d say it’s been down two hours. Third of all, the worst way to keep up a business is telling your customers they are wrong, especially when they aren’t. Don’t get Jaguar Hosting, formerly known as Aletia. Just like so many other company takeovers these days, they’ve only gotten worse since the change.

  1. Just to offer another point of view: I signed up with Aletia to host my wife’s domain almost a year ago. I’ve had to deal with both Aletia support and Jaguar PC supprt now, including today. I think they provide good hosting, lots of features and not much trouble, for a very low price. My main complaint is there web-based mail applications – they are the pits compared to big ISPs and other services. Otherwise, I’m happy.

  2. My site was down again today for over an hour and this time they responded that I should check their forums for updates. Well considering that I did do that YESTERDAY and there hadn’t been a post in months, I didn’t bother today. Then today they actually post one. I love their inconsistency. I’m going to be signing up at nohasslehosting.net very soon because I’m sick of this shit.
