I so do not want to go back to work tomorrow. We didn’t do much yesterday because we planned to run errands today, but we totally forgot today was Easter. Can you tell how religious we are?

Target was closed so that kinda messed up our plans. We did buy our new stove from Lowes, however. It was fun trying to get that thing through the door but Joe managed. I did a thorough cleaning of the kitchen and dining room afterwards since we made a good mess.

The only thing that sucks is that the gas pipe to the stove gets in the way of pushing it against the wall so there’s a gap there that’s rather annoying. I put a photo up at the new and improved Home Photos page in case you’re interested. I also added some new photos of the kitchen.

I really need to update all the after photos of our place as it’s changed a lot since I took the current photos. I think I have some dust on my camera’s sensor, though, because none of my photos, even with the flash, seem to be coming out very clear. I hope it’s not some back or front focusing issue because I just don’t feel like dealing with Canon and shipping my camera to them. The lens I own is cheap, so it may just be a combination of sensor dust and a poor lens. I need to look into the proper way to clean the sensor and also buy a better lens soon. I feel so inadequate with this new camera. It almost makes me miss my Nikon just because I knew it so well.

This (http://www.pbase.com/copperhill/ccd_cleaning) has a very thorough guide to cleaning your sensor. But before doing all that, get some kind of air blaster (http://www.adorama.com/GTRAB.html) and see if you can’t just blow the air out first. Don’t use the compressed air that comes in cans!

(Sorry if you know this already.)

Also, I don’t think dust would cause the photos to not be clear, I think it generally shows up as little blobs in your photo. Clarity is likely due to low quality lens or focus problems.

I second that copperhill recommendation. I bought that little SensorSwipe thing that copperhill sell and I got myself some pec pads and eclipse solution from a local camera shop and it comes up a treat. Pretty nerve-racking the first few times but it gets easier. Have you tried setting the lens to manual and focusing manually to eliminate any potential problems with the lens?

PS: I know that kind of deafeats the purpose of having an autofocus lens but if the subject isn’t moving I’d choose manual over auto every time.
