We rented The Human Stain the other day because I like Anthony Hopkins. I have to say I was very disappointed in the movie. It just seemed so blah that I didn’t even care for the “climax” at the end.
In contrast, Jersey Girl premiered on cable and it was fantastic. We didn’t see it in the theatre because it didn’t look very funny, but we couldn’t have been more wrong. How dare I doubt Kevin Smith; he is yet to make a film I have not enjoyed.
I didn’t like The Human Stain either – I thought it was silly and had absolutely no point. Perhaps if it had been made 50 years ago, but the big climax is completely unimportant or exciting in this day and age.
