Not a game so much, more like a little symphony of cute aquatic creatures, that’s how I’d explain Electroplankton. It was fun to mess around with for about an hour, but I wouldn’t buy it. The beatness planktons that rock out to Super Mario Bros. were my favorite by far.

Popcorn
Since it was so gorgeous out today (it’s about time!), we took the kids to the park where they tossed around the football and ran around the playground. Then we had lunch at Pizza Hut. I can’t tell you the last time I actually ate inside a Pizza Hut, but it’s been a very long time. We shared a family order of breadsticks, the kids got pasta, and Joe and I got personal pan pizzas. I only ate half of mine (Hawaiian-style) because those bread sticks are filling! I really wanted to try the cinnamon sticks but was way too full to contemplate shoving any more food in my mouth. In fact, I only had one little taco for dinner. It didn’t help that my reflux is still acting up.
After lunch we went to Petsmart and I came extremely close to getting the cutest little Chinese Dwarf hamster. Joe and The Boy were getting impatient with The Girl and me because we couldn’t stop watching this little hamster and all her acrobatics. She was hanging upside down and cracking us up. Her sisters weren’t nearly as interesting. I even had another cage in my hand at one point but then reconsidered because we don’t have much room for another hamster cage, as small as this one would be. Plus I felt like it would take my attention away from Peanut and I felt guilty about that. So as hard as it was, I had to walk away from little Popcorn (the kids named her).
I do plan to have several pets one day when we have the room, and there are a lot of different animals I wouldn’t mind owning, although not necessarily at the same time, including a dog, cat, rabbit, ferret, frogs, and a turtle. Joe might have a heart attack when he reads this!
Meteos
A short review of Meteos for the Nintendo DS.
This game is so strange, yet fun. There are a lot of options to choose from. I often play a quick 3 minute game while my computer boots up. It’s definitely not a game you spend hours playing, but it’s still entertaining. Definitely one of the better rentals I’ve tried. I’ll probably buy it eventually too. I’ll add it to my wish list along with Kirby Squeak Squad.
No Shedd for us
Good morning! So here’s something unusual: I’m awake and Joe is still in bed. I have been sticking to my weekend bedtime of 11 pm pretty religiously. Ok, that’s not entirely true. I went upstairs last night at 11 pm but I did spend twenty minutes playing my new DS rental, Magnetica, which is pretty fun. However, I couldn’t sleep past 7:30 this morning whereas Joe still stays up late so he’s going to sleep a little longer.
My back and legs are so sore today! I hate being a woman when it gets in the way of fun. You see, we were planning on going to the Shedd Aquarium today. In fact, we’ve been planning to go there for, oh, the past three months. We were originally going for my birthday in early January, but again, women issues got in the way. Then on the day we rescheduled we didn’t end up going because there was a playoff game (Bears) and we were afraid parking would be a nightmare. Turns out they closed the Shedd that day anyway! So then we had various other reasons: too cold outside (the walk from parking to the aquarium can be far depending on what lot you choose), prior obligations, etc. etc.
Suffice it to say, we are never going to visit at this rate. I don’t expect the day to be perfect, but for $27.50 per person (to see it all), I want my body and the weather to try and cooperate since there’s a lot of walking involved. So the trip has been postponed once more. I am praying for the final time, which will be two weeks from today. That will also give me ample time to clean my camera’s sensor. Or more like time for Joe to clean it, since I don’t trust myself with such a delicate operation.
GBA – Dr. Mario and Puzzle League
Finally, the game I ordered was delivered today! Amazon Super Saver shipping is cheap but they ship USPS which sucks because it is S-L-O-W. I swear, I’m like a kid in a candy store sometimes because I was so excited. I was showing it to my boss talking about how much fun Puzzle League is. Luckily she likes puzzle games too so she didn’t think I was a big retard.
It looks so pretty in the box it’s almost a shame I’m going to have to rip it open to get my game on.
