We decided to visit the (relatively new) IKEA in Bolingbrook and try their ultra-cheap breakfast. For $1.99 you get scrambled eggs, potatos, bacon and french toast sticks. I didn’t like the potatos at all, but those were some of the yummiest eggs I’ve ever had. I wonder what their secret is. The coffee was completely free (which Joe says was good), but I had to buy a bottle of water for $1. The food could have been warmer, but it was still a nice breakfast for only $5.

After breakfast we wandered around the store for nearly two hours. Surprising since it’s not as big as the Woodfield store. The thing I love most about IKEA is how they put together entire rooms and apartments to show how to save space in style. It gives one so many ideas. If we didn’t already have more than enough furniture, it would be the perfect place to buy some. I completely fell in love with this one kitchen setup they had. I really love the idea of a big kitchen with a huge island that has a cooktop on one side and stools on the other, which is exactly what this had. I think I sat there for five minutes in my own little dream world.

Reality was we didn’t buy a single thing. Yea, we’re probably the only people in the entire world who has gone to IKEA and not walked out with something. That’s not to say we didn’t see a lot of things we liked, particularly this wall lamp, but we didn’t need anything. I don’t know why, but I’m not very interested in buying stuff anymore. I seriously evaluate every purchase even if it’s only a few dollars. I guess in many ways that’s good because it just means more money in the bank. But it’s weird because I really like to shop!

After IKEA we saw Little Miss Sunshine. I didn’t have any intention of seeing it until I kept reading everyone’s glowing reviews (and by everyone, I mean the blogging community). Everyone was right too – it was entertaining and one of the better movies I’ve seen this year.

We stopped at Hobby Lobby and spent another hour or more walking around just looking at everything. I’ve been spending a lot of time walking around hobby stores lately trying to find something I can get into because I’m rather disgusted by the amount of time I spend online or watching tv. You may recall how I wanted to get into scrapbooking last year. That didn’t pan out because scrapbooking is a very time consuming hobby that requires patience, money for supplies, and artistic talent which I do not have.

So anyway, I still haven’t found a new hobby, but I did pick up some beads and stretchy cord. I want to make myself a bracelet because I never see anything in the stores I like and I don’t want to pay someone a ton of money to make one for me (that is a whole other entry for another day).

Our weekend started early because we both took a vacation day today.
