Thank goodness tomorrow is my last day of work until after Christmas. Yea, unlike many of you lucky ducks, I don’t have the week between Christmas and New Year’s off. But that doesn’t mean I’m not going to thoroughly enjoy the four days I do have away from work. The way things have been going lately it is so desperately needed. Tomorrow night I will kick back on the couch and watch back to back DVR’d episodes of one of my favorite new shows, My Boys<\/a><\/em>, while hubby plays Socom with his buddies. I may put the presents under the tree if I’m feeling especially ambitious.<\/p>\n

You have to check out these bands I recently discovered: <\/p>\n

Pelican<\/a> – A Chicago heavy metal instrumental band from what I’ve heard thus far. To be honest, I’m going by the clips I’ve heard at CD Universe as I haven’t bought an album just yet. I do have plans to, however. Something about their style reminds me of The Cure’s Carnage Visors<\/em><\/a> which I listened to twice in a row the other day. <\/p>\n

Panic! At The Disco<\/a> – They have the longest song titles I’ve ever seen! Their music is super catchy and after a cursory listen to Fever You Can’t Sweat Out<\/i>, not a bad track on the entire album. That’s a hard feat to achieve which is why I still listen to New Order, Depeche Mode and The Cure more often than anything else. <\/p>\n

There is nothing worse than having to skip over undesirable tracks. Which reminds me: check out Alkaline Trio but stay away from Orbital’s Altogether<\/i> album. The suckiest suck they’ve ever released. HORRIBLE. Two discs and one halfway decent song that plays ad nauseam on XM’s The System. And they used to be so good!
