But I was so happy taking down the Halloween decorations today. Remind me next year to wait until October before putting them up. I think decorations start getting old once they&#8217;ve been up for a month, which is why I bought some &#8220;harvest&#8221; items to last us through December until I put up the Christmas stuff. There wasn&#8217;t much to choose from, but we got a cute <a href=\"http:\/\/nicole.sleepyfroggie.net\/blog\/photos\/2003\/20031102-001.html\" onclick=\"window.open('http:\/\/nicole.sleepyfroggie.net\/blog\/photos\/2003\/20031102-001.html','popup','width=400,height=300,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0'); return false\">tablecloth and bowl<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/nicole.sleepyfroggie.net\/blog\/photos\/2003\/20031102-002.html\" onclick=\"window.open('http:\/\/nicole.sleepyfroggie.net\/blog\/photos\/2003\/20031102-002.html','popup','width=300,height=326,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0'); return false\">a hand towel<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/nicole.sleepyfroggie.net\/blog\/photos\/2003\/20031102-003.html\" onclick=\"window.open('http:\/\/nicole.sleepyfroggie.net\/blog\/photos\/2003\/20031102-003.html','popup','width=300,height=400,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0'); return false\">a little birdhouse knicknack<\/a>. It&#8217;s still a little bare in comparison, but it will have to do.<\/p>\n<p>I was sitting in front of the patio door, with my back to it as I packed the Halloween decorations, when Joe walked by and told me to turn around. Sitting there was <a href=\"http:\/\/nicole.sleepyfroggie.net\/blog\/photos\/2003\/20031102-squirrel.html\" onclick=\"window.open('http:\/\/nicole.sleepyfroggie.net\/blog\/photos\/2003\/20031102-squirrel.html','popup','width=450,height=338,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0'); return false\">a squirrel<\/a>. He hopped off his perch on our lawn chairs and came over to get a closer look. He just looked at us as if to say, &#8220;So where&#8217;s the food?&#8221; so we gave him some peanuts. He kept coming back for more, and one time when I opened the door he came right up and was within inches of coming inside. I closed the door to stop him, though, because while they are cute, I&#8217;m not about to keep one as a pet! We were speculating that he was one of the squirrels we used to feed last winter and remembered us, which is why he wasn&#8217;t scared of us in the least.
