These are in no particular order, just as I thought of them.<\/p>\n<p><b>Things I will miss about our apartment &#8230;<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Our large bright bathroom\n<\/li>\n<li>Being able to run the hot water in the bathtub for as long as I want since we don&#8217;t pay for it\n<\/li>\n<li>The parks\/wildlife in the neighborhood\n<\/li>\n<li>Being able to walk to the Dominicks and library\n<\/li>\n<li>The 15 minutes or less commute to and from work\n<\/li>\n<li>Having a good chuck of change left after paying bills every month\n<\/li>\n<li>Having all the stuff I order get dropped off at the rental office so I don&#8217;t have to drive to the nearest FedEx or UPS facility\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><b>Things I won&#8217;t miss about our apartment &#8230;<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Having to collect quarters to do laundry every week\n<\/li>\n<li>The apartment and our bedding sometimes smelling like cigarette smoke\n<\/li>\n<li>The apartment building always smelling like cigarette smoke\n<\/li>\n<li>Listening to the neighbor&#8217;s tv while trying to sleep at 11:30 pm\n<\/li>\n<li>Hearing the upstairs neighbors&#8217; every move\n<\/li>\n<li>All the clutter in the apartment\n<\/li>\n<li>Feeling cramped every other weekend when the kids visit\n<\/li>\n<li>Only having one bathroom and having to share it with the kids\n<\/li>\n<li>Not being able to paint the walls something other than white\n<\/li>\n<li>All the doors in the apartment sticking in their frame and making loud noises when you open or close them\n<\/li>\n<li>The lack of sunshine in the apartment\n<\/li>\n<li>Not having a place to safely park my car and not worry about it\n<\/li>\n<li>The barking frenzy that goes on in the yards behind our building whenever the dogs spot a squirrel\n<\/li>\n<li>Having to store belongings in two different storage units, one off-site, due to the lack of storage space\n<\/li>\n<li>The lack of cabinet space in the kitchen\n<\/li>\n<li>The dangerous drivers going 50 mph down a 20 mph residential street where kids are always walking\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And last but not least <\/p>\n<p><b>Things I&#8217;m looking forward to once we move &#8230;<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Having a real bed frame and bedroom furniture\n<\/li>\n<li>Having my own bathroom to keep decorated nicely even when the kids are visiting\n<\/li>\n<li>Keeping my car clean and safe in the garage\n<\/li>\n<li>Having all my storage items be easily accessible and no off-site\n<\/li>\n<li>Having more room to breathe\n<\/li>\n<li>Having different colors painted on the walls\n<\/li>\n<li>Decorating the walls with my own photography\n<\/li>\n<li>Trying out our new fireplace\n<\/li>\n<li>The kids having their own rooms\n<\/li>\n<li>Having more cabinet space in the kitchen\n<\/li>\n<li>Having a larger refrigerator\n<\/li>\n<li>Having a pantry\n<\/li>\n<li>Having access to a swimming pool in the summer\n<\/li>\n<li>Living in a new neighborhood that I can explore\n<\/li>\n<li>Being close to lots of shopping\n<\/li>\n<li>Having a large comfy sectional couch in the living room\n<\/li>\n<li>Buying a widescreen HDTV (eventually)\n<\/li>\n<li>Being able to reorganize all our stuff and start over\n<\/li>\n<li>Owning a piece of property\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Now that we&#8217;re officially home owners, I feel I can post the little lists I&#8217;ve been compiling over the past few weeks.
