I just finished giving the house a fairly decent cleaning. I’ll do an even more thorough job next Sunday (or maybe Monday, since we’ll be out during the day) after the kids leave.

Yesterday to kill some time we had lunch at this awesome bbq restaurant in our old neighborhood (when I say old, I mean before we lived together), The Pit Rib House. I’m not really a bbq fan, but I can’t resist their bbq chicken. The only thing that irks me is I always order the quarter chicken and they bring out (and charge me for) the half chicken. It doesn’t always occur to me right away either, but next time I’m going to yell at them about it. Anyway, they make their own bbq sauce on site, so we bought a bottle since good bbq sauce is hard to find.

After lunch we went to the Market Day Store to get some broccoli cheese stuffed chicken. We usually make them in the toaster oven and put them on a bed of rice. It’s not the healthiest meal in the world, but it’s definitely one of my favorites.

Today we did a little shopping and tried our luck by visiting the new Meijer. You might remember our horrible experience at the last Meijer Grand Opening. This one has been open for at least a month now, I think, and it was early enough in the morning that it wasn’t too crowded. I wasn’t all that impressed with most of their prices for general items, but I liked their produce section a lot. Not only did they have a huge selection and very good prices, but everything was super fresh, which is more than I can say for some of the local markets in town. We got some watermelon, grapes, and strawberries. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it!

After dropping the food off at home, we went out to breakfast at the same restaurant we ate at with Joe’s parents a few weeks ago. Joe had french toast that time, so that’s what I ordered today. It is sooo good!

After our late breakfast, we went to Bed Bath & Beyond. I had ordered three gift cards from Discover, so we had $75 to spend plus whatever was left on these older two gift cards I had in my wallet. We ended up getting new pillows for our bed, a mattress pad, a shampoo caddy for the shower, and a blender, without having to spend a cent of our own money. You gotta love that!

Now I’m ready for a nap.

Yuck, I’m all sweaty right now and I hate that feeling.
