Mmmm… Cold-eeze. I am not taking any chances. I have nine days away from work and I don’t intend on spending them sick just because I’ve been under so much stress lately. Joe has had the sniffles the past few days and I started feeling a little odd tonight so I took a Tylenol, a vitamin, and some cold-eeze. I feel better already. I think.

Musicology

1. What is the first music album you remember owning? If not the same, what is the first music album you purchased for yourself? The Bangles – Different Light was my first cassette purchase. My first CD was No Jacket Required by Phil Collins.

2. What artist currently occupies the most space either in terms of shelf space or megabytes on your hard drive? The Cure. After that it’s probably Underworld, Depeche Mode, New Order, and Pinback on my hard drive.

3. How many different types of music media (vinyl, cassette, CD, etc) have you owned in your lifetime? Cassettes, vinyl (for collectibles), CDs and MiniDiscs.

4. Who or what has had the biggest effect on your music taste? My first boyfriend from high school because he was a music junkie and all I knew was Phil Collins, Cyndi Lauper, and The New Kids On The Block up until then.

5. How do you currently prefer to listen to music? Usually at work through streaming audio or MP3s. Surprisingly, I don’t listen to much music at home because the tv is usually on or in the rare instance when it’s not, I relish the peace and quiet.

6. In terms of music memorabilia, what is your most prized possession? My supposedly rare clear vinyl copy of High by The Cure.

7. Have you ever “swapped headsets” with a complete stranger (meaning have you ever unplugged the earphones from your listening device and plugged them into someone else’s player and had them do the same)? If yes, what did they play for you? Nope. I can’t say that I have.

8. Have you ever been completely obsessed with a particular artist? Who and to what level did your fandom go? I am obsessed with The Cure. My level of fandom? I use song titles or words from their songs as handles for e-mails and websites, I use album covers as my icon, I purchase all their work without hesitation, and I see them whenever they tour.

9. What is the farthest you’ve ever traveled for a concert? Europe? I don’t know if it counts since I didn’t know I’d be attending the concert when I went to England, but my wonderful friend Andy surprised me with tickets to see The Cure while there in 1996 and it was a very memorable experience.

10. Who have you seen in concert the most? The Cure. Four times and counting.
