It’s baaaack!

Joe’s camera came back to life!

We turned it on using the A/C adapter, just in case the error was a result of corrosion of the battery contacts, but still got the system error. Figuring we’d have nothing to lose, Joe started tapping the lens barrel and pushing on it a bit. Finally it retracted, and the camera is now working like normal. We took a few test pictures and everything is fine. Sweet!

I laughed when Joe said, “I was kinda looking forward to getting a new camera.” Hehehe, I finally convinced him to look at buying a new one. I seem to have that effect on him. What can I say, I love to shop, especially when it concerns digital photography equipment.

Joe said if we get the error again, he’s just going to get a new camera anyway. He’s eyeing the 4300 which is an updated 885 with a 4-megapixel sensor. You can get one for under $400. How nice is that? I paid $550 for the 885 which is only 3-megapixels.

As Joe said, “Now we can continue with our summer.” I wasn’t looking forward to a weekend without photos, so I’m glad Joe’s back in action.
