I do not like to wait. I’m an impatient person by nature. So it’s no surprise that I am *almost* looking forward to Monday because our T-Mobile phones will be delivered then. Also, I am praying we get our W-2s then too since we did not get them today. I hate companies that wait til the last possible second to send them out. My current employer gave us our W-2s the first week of January but I have to wait for my former employer’s W-2 before I can file my taxes. I don’t think I’ll be getting as much back as I did last year since I’ve been claiming 1 this year instead of 0 every other year.

Entry #401
I feel discontented. All this time off from work (being sick) has made me depressed. Being at home all day is boring, but that doesn’t mean I want to go back to work.
In other news, we decided to go with T-Mobile and placed our order online last night. I’m getting a Samsung phone with a color screen and all that jazz and Joe is getting a Motorola flip phone. I’m a bit irritated that there is still no order status available which means we probably won’t get our phones until next week.
At least my Cure box-set is due to be delivered tomorrow by UPS!!!
I ate a cheeseburger today without wanting to hurl. So I guess that means my appetite is back. Too bad … I was down to 135 lbs. Doubt that will last, though. :p
And if all goes well, I might have my car back this weekend. If I can just get through the next two days without a nervous breakdown it might be a fantastic weekend.
Can you hear me now?
Wow, it sure seems like I have a lot to say today, huh? That seems to happen to me a lot. For days I’ll feel like there’s nothing worth writing about and then one day it’s like a bunch of things are going on at once. Such is my life. Anyway …
In two weeks my current wireless contract with Nextel ends. Thank the sweet Lord! I hate their shitty service. The only reason I got them to begin with was Joe has them through work so I wanted the Direct Connect, which you can only get through them, so I could talk to Joe easily without using up minutes. But now we’ve decided to just find a “family plan” that has two phones and a decent amount of minutes so we won’t have to deal with Nextel anymore. Well, he does for work still, but I won’t. *Does the happy dance*
So … we have narrowed it down to T-Mobile and AT&T Wireless. Does anyone have experience with either one of these carriers? I’m especially interested about those in the Chicagoland area, but if you’re not, I’d still like to know what you think.
Oh, and please don’t recommend another carrier because it’s a pet peeve of mine when someone asks on their blog, “of these choices, which one do you like?” and a person responds and goes on and on about something that wasn’t one of the choices. It just irks me, so don’t do it. I don’t want to hear about Verizon (prices too high) or US Cellular who suspiciously talks only about their “award winning customer service” and little else, probably because their coverage blows. Oh, and no Sprint PCS either. That goes for Cingular and PrimeCo (if they still exist) too. Ok, did I cover them all so that no one aggravates me? :)
Geek Stuff
We stopped in Circuit City today. Didn’t buy anything, but took the opportunity to browse all of their overpriced merchandise (an example – Wipeout Fusion for the PS2 is $20 online, yet they were selling it for $50 – outrageous!). Electronic-related stuff makes me drool, as does music and movies. So even though we didn’t buy anything, it was still nice to look around. I saw a very sweet 19″ LCD monitor that I want. It’s less than what my current Sony 19″ cost a few years ago. I also was looking at a Sony computer that had some really nice flat speakers that kicked out some incredible sound. The music playing was by DJ Precision and was labeled as European Trance. Oh yea, I love that stuff so much. For the 10 days I spent in London I listened to their radio stations more than I have here in the past 10 years. Why? Because they have stations devoted to trance, techno, dance, etc. instead of just rock, alternative, boring-same-old-blink182-sounding-artists and country music here. But I digress.

Nevermind
Well it looks like the mini iPod is not in my future. $250 is way too much money for 4 gigs when you can get an additional 11 gigs for only $50 more. That doesn’t make any sense to me. I was really hoping that I could get a nice player with a 2GB capacity for under $200 since I’ve seen 256mb players for the same price, but I guess not. This is precisely what frustrates me about Apple – they have very nice products but they charge too much. Kinda like Sony and their tendency to charge $100-$200 more than their competitors for the same exact product. Oh well, no biggie. I don’t have a huge need for a portable MP3 player anyway, but it would have been nice to have. I just can’t justify the cost.
For now I will stick to listening to music on my PC with the very cool new version of Winamp. It’s got a lot of nice features and I love that Modern skin!
