More time, please

There just aren’t enough hours in the day. I never get to bed before 11:30 pm lately cause there is always more to do, and I don’t even know what is taking up all the time! I barely watch television anymore, but between working out, making dinner, running errands, and spending time with Joe, I can’t find time to write a decent entry.

Tomorrow will be another busy day as I have laundry to do and various other things to prepare for our weekend getaway to Saint Louis. I am looking forward to getting away, even if it’s only a one night hotel stay. So I’ll be back on Sunday sometime with pictures and stories. Have a good weekend!

Frenzied

I’m so tired. I feel like I haven’t sat down all day. Oh wait, I haven’t (well technically at work, but you know what I mean). It was a busy evening. When I got home, I baked a cake for Joe’s son’s birthday party this weekend. Still have to decorate that before I go to bed too. While the cake was in the oven, I worked out for 52 minutes (running back and forth to check on the cake). After working out, I made tacos, boiled eggs to get them ready for the Easter egg coloring (since we won’t see the kids for Easter, tomorrow is their Easter with us), cleaned out my closet, cleaned the linen closet, cleaned the clutter, did a load of dishes, sorted the laundry so we can start some loads when we come home from work tomorrow, and a few other miscellaneous things (like clean the inside of the refrigerator and organize the magnets on it – LOL).

Anyway, I am stressed. I have had a lot on my mind lately about my current job, my career, my future, etc. And when I’m stressed, I clean. I also lose my appetite, which explains why I haven’t been very hungry as of late. I think I’ve come to some decisions on what to do with my life, but I’m too tired to write about it now. Maybe in a few days. Right now I’ve got that cake to decorate and then sleep. I am exhausted!

P.S. I’m ready to throw this optical mouse away. Leave it up to Micro$hit to not be able to make a functional mouse. The pointer keeps disappearing and then reappearing on a different part of the screen. I updated the driver and it still does it.

New Stuff

Care Bears Today was a good day because I got new stuff. And who doesn’t like new stuff? Target had Care Bears on sale, which I had to have. I’m up to seven bears now and I plan on collecting them all.

I also picked up a few new shirts for the upcoming warmer weather. I really liked what I saw in the mirror in the dressing room. I can see my hard work is paying off. It’s nice to feel relatively thin again.

When we were at my parents’ house yesterday, we decided my brother needed a new mouse cause his just sucks and my mom was having a hard enough time getting used to using one. So we looked online and saw that Office Depot had a Microsoft optical mouse on sale. We checked the actual store, and much to our delight, it was only $10 there, which saved us the shipping charges. I decided to upgrade my mouse as well, so we bought two. I really like how smoother and precise the scrolling is, plus it has a scroll wheel, which my 90’s mouse did not have.

Has your neighborhood Office Depot been redesigned? We hadn’t been to ours for at least a month and was shocked to see how they rearranged everything. It’s got the look of a Circuit City now. They removed the high shelving and the whole store looks much more inviting. We enjoyed just browsing the store. The LCD monitors had me drooling – I really need to get one of those!

In all, it was a nice day. We were able to get a nice walk around the neighborhood in before it started storming. As much as I love thunderstorms, I really hope it doesn’t rain all summer like it seemed to last year.

Let them eat cake

I made a lemon cake. I’m about to frost it and stuff my face. It’s all good, my calorie count is low and I worked out.

In about two weeks we’re going to Saint Louis and I cannot wait. I so need a little getaway. I haven’t had a day off since January and I’m going nuts. I feel like that guy in Office Space, which I watched last night. Good movie.

The one plus side to my job is that I can get in touch with people who know people at hotels. So we got a great rate for our hotel in St. Louis. Instead of the regular $95 rate, we got it for $49. Sweet! I hope it’s as nice as it looked on the website.

I plan on trying to get us hooked up for our trip to New England in June. As it stands now we’re making stops in Boston, Cape Cod, Portland, Bar Harbor, and Niagara Falls. Yea, it’s turning out to be a bit more detailed (not to mention expensive) than we originally planned. But what the hell. When will we be heading to the east coast again? Not for a few years at the very least. Might as well make the most of it.

Saturday Afternoon

It’s a gorgeous day in Chicagoland. We took the kids to the library and came home with far more stuff than either of them will be able to watch or play with before bedtime. But it’s free, so who cares?

Between Joe and I, we came home with something like 16 cds. Can you guess what I’m doing with them right at this moment? Yes, I’m bad. I just don’t like buying cds, especially when they have one or two good songs on them.

I think my head is going to explode before the day is over, though. To my right is a Thomas The Tank Engine video playing on the tv and to my left is the girl on Joe’s computer playing a game. I can barely write a coherent entry when the tv is on, so you can imagine!

Mmmm … it smells so good in here right now. We’ve got the patio door open with the fresh breeze blowing in, and we’ve got hot dogs and cottage fries cooking for lunch.

It feels like Spring. Oh wait, it IS the first day of Spring. Too bad I hear the warmish weather isn’t going to last. Stupid Chicago weather.
