Circle jerk

I’ve been looking online for a device that will punch a 1/2″ or 3/4″ circle in a piece of paper. After searching several craft sites, something has become abundantly clear – people are stupid, and here are two good reasons why …

#1 – A circle punch that does not allow me to see the paper underneath to accurately judge exactly WHERE the punch will occur is not very helpful.

#2 – If you want to sell a circle punch (this place serving as a perfect example), a good idea would be to post an actual picture of the product as opposed to a picture of a circle. Thanks, but I already know what a circle looks like.

*Shakes head*

I guess it’s off to a craft store tomorrow to hopefully find something that works logically.

4:30 am

This is so odd. For the past two weeks, I wake up at 4:30 am. It doesn’t matter what time I go to bed, I’m up at 4:30 am. Of course, I go back to sleep, but it’s still very odd. When we moved the clocks forward an hour on Sunday morning, I woke up at 5:30 am which was really 4:30 am. And then it went back to 4:30 am every morning. Care to venture a guess as to why it’s always the same time?

April showers …

Yep, it’s raining. But I don’t mind, because it’s not the weekend and I don’t have somewhere to go. Plus it’s good for the grass, which is getting greener every day. Come on Spring, kick into high gear already!

Speaking of not going places, I got an interoffice email the other day about a company outing to a Cubs game. Unfortunately it’s on a Saturday that we have the kids, and with the boy’s allergies, it’s probably not a good idea keeping him out for several hours. The email reminded me that we had tried going to a weekend Cubs game last year, and looked for tickets too late. So Joe looked for tickets for this season … and again, we’re too late. It floors me that all the good games are sold out before the season even began, but oh well. I guess we won’t be going until next year. I really want to see a Sox vs Cubs game, so I will have to mark my February 2004 calendar to remind me. Haha.

I was planning on writing here how you’d think after working out on a daily basis that my legs would hurt less, yet they mysteriously hurt more. It was a literal pain to do 30 minutes on the elliptical today. I ended up stopping every ten minutes and taking a break, but still got the full 30 minutes in. Then when I went to post this entry, it hit me – the rain is what’s causing the pain. I don’t think I have arthritis or anything, but ever since I hit my twenties, I get pain in my legs, mostly in the knee area, whenever it rains. So hopefully this pain won’t last much longer.

I ran home during my lunch break and did the majority of the cleaning I needed to do (we have the kids this weekend), so now I’m just relaxing. Work was so easy today. We had to babysit a data dump in Oracle, which basically meant watching so it didn’t crash. So I got paid to read magazines all day. I had a huge stack of magazines (we have a lot of subscriptions) that I had wanted to go through, so it was nice.

And Must See TV is all new tonight. Yay for Thursdays!

I like it short

I saw a commercial the other day for Great Clips. Apparently they are having a sale – only $5.99 for a haircut. How sweet is that? And then I realized there is a Great Clips on the way home from work, only two minutes from my apartment. So I called them to verify the sale (since it’s not listed on their website) and went there straight from work today. They took me immediately and I was out of there in twenty minutes. I got about 3-4 inches cut off and I gotta say, this $6 haircut doesn’t look any different (i.e. worse) than the one I pay $35 for at a salon. Guess where I’ll be getting my hair cut from now on?

Warmth

It was so beautiful out today … because it is a Monday, of course. Mother Nature is such a bitch. ;)

We’ve got the patio door open and a nice breeze is coming in. I love the smell of the air … it reminds me of when we moved in here last April. Such nice memories.

Speaking of memories, remember when you were younger and got three months off for summer vacation? Why can’t we get that now? This whole work work work and then get old and die thing is depressing.

My feet are really warm right now, and I don’t have any socks on. If you know me, you realize this is abnormal.

I’m watching The Simpsons, wishing the night would never end.
