Just as I predicted, today was the ultimate park hopping day. We attended three parks between 9 am and 4 pm. There were a few attractions I had to experience at the parks we hadn’t visited yet, plus some I wanted to go on again.
Below are the attractions we saw, in the order we did them, with a little review from yours truly.
Animal Kingdom
Kilimanjaro Safari – Not quite as good as I was expecting, but interesting. This big guy who was seated next to me didn’t think it was rude that he had his legs spread wide open so I was squished up against Joe during the ride. He also smelled like cigarettes. :p
It’s Tough to be a Bug – By far the best 3D movie we’ve seen across all the parks. Joe couldn’t stop teasing at me how I screamed near the end when it felt like a bug touched my butt. I guess I wasn’t expecting that effect!
Disney-MGM Studios
Rock & Roller Coaster – I intended to go on this all along, but almost chickened out. Joe pressured me to go on it anyway and I’m glad I did (even if my hands started to go numb beforehand because I was so nervous). There really wasn’t anything to be concerned about though: the most intense part of the ride is at the very beginning when you launch from 0 to 60 MPH in two seconds. Even the inversions didn’t seem intense like on other coasters. My only complaint was the ride wasn’t long enough. I almost went on a second time but I had just eaten lunch by that point so I didn’t bother.
Star Tours – This was the best simulator across all the parks we’ve visited. It really felt like you were in space maneuvering around buildings and space ships. I was really tempted to buy a Jedi Mickey from the souvenir shop after the ride too, but didn’t.
Muppet Vision 3D – Rather lame.
Magic Kingdom
Space Mountain – I just had to ride this one more time before going home! We ended up in the last two cars this time so even though we chose the more enjoyable ride using the left line, it felt different, but fun! This was the ride I rode the most out of all the parks for a total of three times.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – I love this ride too, so I had to do it again. It was raining a bit by the time we got on, but it was still fun. The ride was a little longer than I remembered, but I didn’t mind at all. This is a nice tame coaster that has some fun hills. I hope when we take Joe’s kids in a few years they will both be up for riding it.
Haunted Mansion – A classic ride that I wanted to go on one more time.
I guess our vacation is officially over. We’re leaving very bright and early tomorrow so that we can make it home in one day. I had a great time, but I’m tired of living out of a suitcase. I will be happy to be home on my comfy couch watching all the shows we DVR’d while we were gone.
