Aw damn, why didn’t someone tell me that Borders online has a partnership with Amazon.com? Then again, who doesn’t these days? Toys R Us, Carson’s, Marshall Fields, and Target all immediately come to mind. Sellouts! Well fuck it, I’m still using my gift card. Now if only I could find something decent worth buying. So far I have the newest Underworld cd picked out, but I’ve been listening to sound samples of various sub-genres under the Dance category and everything that I don’t already own sucks. Anyone care to make some nice Techno, Trance, Drum n Bass, or Electronica suggestions? I already own most of what’s been released by Underworld, Moby, Orbital and Prodigy, as well as the only decent music I could stand by Aphex Twin.

Fatboy Slim provides for good listening. Also been taking in Chemical Brothers of late – good stuff, but I’m getting tired of their Tweekend CD that’s been in my car for a couple of months now. Those are just a couple ideas, but if you’re looking for more, I could ask some people I know who know the genre well.
The Swordfish soundtrack might be something to check out.
Got Fatboy Slim and Chemical Brothers too. I’ve also got the Swordfish soundtrack. But thanks for the suggestions.
Also note I own BT, Van Dyk, Oakenfold, and Digweed. I couldn’t possibly already own all the good stuff … I don’t have THAT many cds. =)
Lemme know when you wanna sell your CDs for cheap. Sound like it’ll be soon. :)
Anything by Lamb. Or Morgan Geist. Or Jaffa. Or Boards of Canada. Or Ladytron. Or Kid Koala. Or Boom Boom Satellites. Or The New Deal. Or Mum. Or Nightmares on Wax. Or Fizzarum. Or Cinematic Orchestra. Or Thievery Corporation. Or Zero 7. Gawd, I could go on for days!
Since I’m always the one to want to tell absolutely anyone interested about these AMAZING progressive electronic, drum and bass, house type bands that not nearly enough people know about, if you want, I can make you some CDs. I’ve got almost 2,000 mp3s of the stuff. Let me know!
Try “Risotto” by Fluke — it’s quite good, and the first song is the song used on the very first VW Beetle commerical. You can drive your Jetta and feel like you’re in a VW commerical :)
You also can’t go wrong with Crystal Method.
Craig – I own two Fluke cds (quite good, I agree) and some Crystal Method as well. I’m really starting to believe based on everyone’s suggestions that I own all the stuff I like. My cd collection is only around 300 cds, so how can this be? :p
Brian – Why would I sell my cds? I own everything I like. I was just looking for some new stuff. Hell, I won’t even sell my old cassettes (not that anyone would want them) because I can’t part with any music I own.
