Wednesday (04/15) I got my new lenses put into my frames at LensCrafters. Immediately I could tell something felt off. Also, I told them not to mess with my nose pads and either they did anyway or the lenses are heavier because my nose starting hurting just like with the frames I got for my progressives.
Messages I sent to my friend the following day (04/16):
Ugh I hate this because I can’t tell if I’m just sensitive or they did something wrong. Did they not take into account my right eye is higher than the left? Why does my computer monitor look like a trapezoid now?
And why does my nose now hurt? These are lighter and thinner than my progressives so that means they should match the old lenses in weight. The nose pads don’t seem to have changed (I took a bunch of photos of my frames before we went to LensCrafters). I don’t get it. Am I imagining things?
How long do I give it before I go back and tell them something is wrong? I don’t want to jump the gun. This is why I stick with my old glasses for so long because it is NEVER smooth sailing for me when it comes to glasses.
I wish my eyes didn’t reject contacts. Those would be so much better, plus using a camera and binoculars would be easy and I could wear sunglasses again. Stupid eyes!
Why does my vision get blurrier on the right lens quicker than the left one when I turn my head? I know the Rx is in the center but it feels like the right one has less of a clear section than the left. Yet I can see text clearer from my right than my left. WTF? I feel like the left eye is NEVER clear when reading screens no matter what prescription I have. My old lenses and progressives are the same way so either no one can get my Rx dialed in for that eye or it’s just never going to see text crisply because of the astigmatism.

Update: On May 12th, after I had slowly adjusted to my new lenses and the frames stopped hurting my nose, my frames broke. And they could not be repaired. I ended up taking everything to LensCrafters and had the new frames moved in the second pair of identical frames which had been housing my progressive lenses, which I never wore anyway because they kept hurting my nose. Wouldn’t you know it, they fit fine without any pain later! WTF?!? Were the progressive lenses that much heavier compared to the single vision ones? Am I that sensitive???
Now I am without a spare pair of frames so I need to start casually looking around before multiple years go by and I’m in a time crunch. It really sucks having a small head because it’s always a struggle finding frames.
