Could they be any more annoying?

It’s January, and yet my neighbors’ Halloween pumpkins are still by their front door. I guess I should consider myself lucky they didn’t put up any Christmas decorations or I’d have to look at those until St. Patrick’s Day at the very earliest. It’s bad enough last year’s Easter welcome sign is still propped up on the ugly-ass bench outside their door.

Seriously, they are the laziest people in the universe. Someone forgot to inform them that we’re not living in a trailer park.

  1. We have a shared entry walkup with our neighbors and, a few years ago, we forgot about our pumpkins and gourds as well. The God’s honest truth of the situation is we never go through the front door. We always enter through the garage and the front door is set back about 20 feet from the front of the garage and surrounded by shrubs so we forgot we even had them because we never saw them. About the middle of December and we finally remembered and got rid of them. We’ve been much better since, though.

  2. I’m like Kapgar, I never ever use my front door… it’s way up on the side of my house where I can’t even see it, and I always go in through the garage. So I can easily imagine myself putting decorations out there and then forgetting all about them.

Are your neighbor’s pumpkins carved and rotting? That would be really inexcusable!

  3. Our front door is right by the garage, and I come face to face with it just pulling in and out, so there would be no excuse for me.

I hope their pumpkins aren’t rotting, although i can’t imagine how they aren’t. Last year we had one that rotted right away, but only on the bottom so it looked just fine from straight on. When I threw them out after Halloween the rotten one had actually kind of stained our concrete – it took a few months of washing, rain, and snow to get the mark to go away.

  4. Good thing I’m not your neighbor or you’d hate me! I put my pumpkins in the back yard a couple of weeks ago, only at my husband’s insistence. I left last year’s out until July or August and it was intact and so pretty. I don’t do any outdoor decorations otherwise. We usually go all out with a grave yard, etc. for Halloween, but take that down in a timely manner.

  5. Yea, they have no excuse. They use their front door daily. Unfortunately it is RIGHT next to our front door so I notice. They tend to leave delivered packages out there for days too. They suck.
