Xmas Shopping

Well, we’re done with the Christmas shopping for the kids. For us, not so much. And at this point I really don’t think it’s gonna happen. I enjoy opening presents, so that part kinda sucks, but I can’t blame Joe – work has been crazy and we haven’t had much time apart to go shopping. Which is just as well since I have no idea what to get him this year. He’s not materialistic enough!

We don’t typically spend a lot on one another and the only thing I could think of was an Xbox 360 which is $299 (for the “good” one) which seems like a waste of money when we can’t be bothered to turn the PS2 or Wii on unless the kids are over. I don’t know why, but even though we like video games we don’t go out of our way to play them for some reason. We always take our Nintendo DS’ on trips and yet they rarely get turned on. I think I’ve played more games on my iPhone in the past month than all year on any of our gaming systems (and we just about have them all).

Yesterday we hit the stores early beginning with a trip to Walmart, then Carsons, Kohl’s, Meijer, Michael’s, and Target with a stop at the bank and Panera for lunch thrown in as well. Meijer had some pretty good deals on gifts for E. So much so that we are taking a few things back to Walmart that we found at Meijer for less. I scored a nice jewelry box at Kohl’s for only $7! It was regularly priced $70 and 75% off, plus I had a coupon from Discovercard for $10 off. It was the last one in stock. I’ve been wanting a jewelry box for awhile so it was a nice find, and a complete surprise since I wasn’t actively looking for one. I’m making Joe wrap it so I have something to open on Christmas. How sad, huh!? I don’t think at this point we’re even putting up the tree. I’m just not feeling the Christmas spirit I guess…
