Good Times

It’s been a good weekend thus far, and we’ve still got two more full days off before it’s back to the grind.

We spent Thanksgiving with my family until 6:30 pm when we left to pick up the kids. Yesterday we went to the Spaghetti Warehouse for lunch. We’ve never been there before and I must say I was impressed with the place. I’m not big on Italian food by any means, but their food is good and the prices are very reasonable. The kids meals are only $3.49 and come with a huge bowl of soup, a large-sized entree, drink and dessert. I was surprised by how much food the kids got. We took advantage of the lunch menu and got toasted ravioli for an appetizer as well. Our bill only came to $25 for the four of us. Not bad at all. I highly recommend the place.

After dropping the kids off at home this morning we did a little running around – stopped at the library to drop off some books and got some new ones to read; also went to Blockbuster and rented two PS2 games; did some quick shopping at Dominick’s for a couple of ingredients to make the beef enchiladas we’re having tomorrow (I made the chicken ones in the Pace recipe book two weeks ago and they were soooo yummy!); and also went to Target to return a lunch bag I bought – turns out the handle was ripped and I hadn’t even noticed. By that time we were hungry, so we picked up some Wendy’s chili for lunch. I love that chili like none other. I’ve tried Burger King’s and not only is it higher in fact, but it’s terrible. I love Wendy’s chili so much I got two and will be having the second one shortly for dinner. At 5 grams of fat for the small size, you can’t go wrong.

After lunch I washed all my maroon bathroom rugs and shower curtain, put away the fall decorations, and put up the Christmas ones. I was going to wait until December 1st, but I just couldn’t. At least I waited until after Thanksgiving unlike some other people. Look, I understand you want to put the lights on your house while it’s still relatively warm outside. But do you have to turn them on before Thanksgiving is over? It’s just wrong.

Now the apartment is all Christmas-like. I’ve got the maroon motif back in the bathroom so it feels more like the season now. As much as I love the blue seashell theme, it’s too Spring/Summer. I’m tempted to change our bedding too, but we’ll see. I just like to decorate … can’t you tell?

After dinner I plan on playing Wipeout on the PS2 before we watch the PPV we ordered – Wrong Turn. I hope it’s as good as it looked!

Update: Wrong Turned sucked … I should have known better!
