Jetta Jinx

We got my car back yesterday. It looks fabulous – like new. I’m happy it’s back to normal. Oddly enough, the right brake light was out. No biggie. I’m sure it was a coincidence and I had a spare bulb, so we changed it when we filled the car up with gas today. But now the gas tank won’t close! It locks closed and when you push it in, it won’t catch. Looking at it, nothing looks amiss. I just don’t get it but I’m really starting to feel like this is the start of the decline of my car which isn’t even paid off yet (but will be VERY soon).

We also found a coffee cup top (the part that rips off to sip from the cup) and a razor blade in my car, obviously left behind by whomever worked on it. I’m a bit aggravated by that. Also when we picked up the car, it wouldn’t start so they had to jump it. When they popped the hood it turns out the battery cover was off and lying on the engine block. Nice. So even though they did a good job on the car, they were very careless when they were finished. Kinda makes you wonder how they managed to do such a good job on the car in the first place.

They gave me a survey to fill out. Wonder if I should mention the above things or not. Don’t want to get on their bad side if I end up going back for any future body work, which at this point wouldn’t be a surprise. My car is jinxed.

Sigh.

  1. You should totally mention it. Supervisors want to know when their workers are being careless. I’ve complained about stuff like that before and the guy in charge of service is super nice to me, and I continue to go there, because I know the guy who fucked up won’t be working on my car. They will want to keep your business.

  2. I agree…you should mention it nicely. Car places like that have an interest in keeping customers satisfied…they get a lot of business by word-of-mouth.
