Stuff me silly

I ate way too much food on Sunday. I did pretty good throughout the week, including working out every day, but I made the mistake on Sunday of thinking “a hot dog and fries won’t hurt me” and it all snow-balled after that.

After much hunting, we found ourselves at Superdawg. This place is so famous they’ve been featured on one of those Food Network shows. I have to admit, the hot dog, while pricey at $4.20, was very good. I couldn’t believe how overwhelmingly crowded it was at lunchtime either. There were people waiting for a drive-in space just to eat. As we were leaving, one of the managers was directing a car to park on the sidewalk in front of the place.

After lunch, as we slowly made our way south toward my parents house, we found ourselves in our old neighborhood, which warranted a stop at the Plush Horse ice cream shop. You just can’t pass up such an opportunity. Pay no attention to their horribly designed site as their homemade ice cream makes up for it. I ordered one scoop of Mint Chocolate Chip (and oh my god was it green!) which turned out to be more like 10 scoops of ice cream. I could only eat half of it and ended up throwing the rest away.

By the time we got to my mom’s I wasn’t even hungry, but I ate anyway since she had made so much food and I didn’t want to hurt her feelings. I had shrimp scampi, polish sausage, and green beans, among other things.

I think my stomach is mad at me now. I would promise I’ll do better this week, but it’s “that” time so I know I won’t, so I see no sense in lying to myself. Next week I will have to repent for my sins, though. But let me just say, it was worth it.
