For the past week and a half, we’ve been making an effort to go rollerblading in the park in the evenings. Unfortunately, the rollerblades Joe owned were cheap and they performed as such. Not anymore, because he bought these yesterday. I just know he’ll be skating circles around me in no time.
I have good blades too, Rollerblade Lightnings, but they are almost ten years old and don’t look as cool as his. They’re still in great condition, though, because I haven’t used them a ton.
You’ll probably think I’m a total idiot, but I’ve never learned how to use the heel brake on my blades, so I’ve been studying this online tutorial and will be practicing next time I go out. There is this awesome hill on one of the paths at the park that I will just kill myself on if I don’t learn how to properly brake first. I really enjoy rollerblading because it feels more like fun and less like exercise, but this little girl almost caused me to crash yesterday because she walked right out on the path in front of me and I had to swerve to miss her. I went off in the grass because I don’t know how to brake. I’m an idiot.
