Earlier today someone kept calling me but when I didn’t pick up (because I was busy and didn’t recognize the number), they refused to leave a message. Finally after the fourth call, I was aggravated so I answered, and it was the survey company I signed up with a few years ago. They typically call asking me to spend a few hours at a location in the suburbs looking at advertisements and answering questions, although I haven’t been to one in awhile even though it pays well ($75) since they’re usually scheduled before my work shift ends.
Tonight they had something new for me: a survey I could do at home. All I had to do, I was told, was tune into a public access channel for a half hour, watch the show, then answer some questions when they called me back. Paid to watch tv? I’m so there!
The show sucked but I worked out while I watched and the follow-up questions lasted less than 15 minutes. They are sending me a check for $25 for my time which worked out to be less than an hour total. Pretty sweet deal, if you ask me. Hell, that’s more than I make at my real job! I told them to give me a call anytime.
Bummer. I was hoping they were paying you for watching primetime TV.
