I think FedEx gets a sick thrill out of making people sweat over their package delivery. My camera was due to be delivered today. I knew I’d be at work when FedEx came, but I assumed they’d leave the box at the rental office like they always do. I was (obsessively) checking the tracking page at their website and around 11:30 am there was a note that a delivery attempt was made and no one was home. So I quickly called FedEx and explained I was at work but they could sign for my package at the rental office. The man I spoke with told me no problem … he’d relate the message to the driver and they’d try a second time today. He also took down my phone # and said they’d call me if for any reason they couldn’t make the attempt. So around noon I checked the status again and there was the second attempt with another message stating no one was home! I quickly called the rental office to confirm that no one from FedEx had been by and that someone had been in the office the entire time. So then I called FedEx. The woman I spoke with said the guy who took my first call just told the driver to attempt my apartment again and said nothing about trying the rental office. Too bad it wasn’t the regular driver for the area because she always goes to the office without being told. So then they said my package would be at their facility until 9pm for me to pick up since they didn’t have time to make another attempt. I raced over there after work and luckily that transaction went smoothly. I tore open the box when I got home and here I am.
This camera is so small, it’s awesome. You can easily hold it in one hand to shoot photos. It’s like a toy … which I guess for the price it really is. The camera case reminds me of a change purse. I look forward to playing around with it tomorrow outside to see the quality. I have to remind myself it isn’t going to compare to my 5700 and it’s more for that unexpected photo op, but at least it will be better than the pen cam!
