Our Betta, Bonzai, passed away yesterday. We got him in May 2009 so he lived a good long life of 2.5 years. He had been looking unwell for a long time so I hope he’s at peace now. As I tried to figure out how to properly dispose of him I learned that it’s illegal to flush fish down the toilet, so he went in the garbage instead. Seems rather undignified no matter how you handle it, but what can you do, hold a burial or have him cremated?
If you’re keeping count we’re now down to two mice and a toad as far as pets are concerned. Once the mice pass away, and if work ever lets up so I’m back to a consistent 40-hour week, I’d like to start fostering kittens for a local rescue.
