24: 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Crap, here it is a week later and I still didn’t write about the latest 24 episode. Sorry about that.

Jack Bauer is a pussy when it comes to his father. I don’t know why he doesn’t stand up to that asshole. He actually got on his knees, ready and willing for his dad to execute him. Not only that, but he apologized to him as well, for making him think that Jack had abandoned the family. Then he said he was ready. But the shot never came. So he turned around to yell at dear old dad, and he was gone. He left behind a cell phone with a number to call. Who was on the other end? Former President Logan. He wants to meet Jack. Where did Jack’s dad go so fast and did he ever intend to really shoot Jack like we were lead to believe, or was that a diversion from the very beginning? Why is his company so important he’d hurt everyone in his family? I don’t get it.

Oh yea, and they might blow up President Palmer, or so they have you believe. Tonight’s episode should be interesting.

Random musings

Friday afternoon I got a call from Joe. He was at SuperTarget and couldn’t find the frozen fish aisle. Of course he found it just as I answered the phone! I thought it was cute how much he depends on me for the little things.

This morning I was blow-drying my hair when I heard a loud pop and the dryer started squealing. It scared the living shit out of me! I immediately unplugged it in fear it would catch fire. Then I went to SuperTarget and bought this replacement. Actually I bought a Revlon hair-dryer at K-Mart first, but the one from Target was cheaper, smaller, and the brand I always buy, so I’m taking the other one back.

While at Target I saw cannibalistic Peeps!

One of my new favorite shows is The L Word. I just started watching a few weeks ago and set up a series recording on the DVR in case I liked it. I’m not too fond of the girl on girl action (or any kissing scenes, hetero or otherwise for that matter), but other than that it’s a very interesting show. Now I have three seasons to catch up on!

Lego Star Wars II is not meant to be played on the DS. Take it from me: it’s one of those games that reminds you just how small the screen really is. I’m excited because the new game, Diddy Kong Racing DS, is on its way from Game Crazy. It looks like a more fun version of Mario Kart DS. I hope so!

Idol Blah

Now that the auditions are over at American Idol, I am losing interest in the show. Aren’t those freaks the best? So many delusional people, so little time! I think they show more bad singers than good during the auditions and that’s just fine by me. Everyone talks about how mean the judges are (read: Simon), but I love every minute of it. I LOVE Simon. All he’s doing is putting those people in their place and trying to prevent them from wasting their time. I have to say this to all the parents out there encouraging their kids who can’t hold a tune: You are giving your child false hope. You think you’re being supportive but in actuality you’re being cruel. But please keep it up because I just loooove making fun of your son/daughter. Sometimes it’s the highlight of my week!

Ahem.

I’m not overly excited about the top 24 this year. Last night was two hours of the top 12 guys. Thanks to my wonderful DVR, whom I shall marry one day if Joe ever leaves me, I watched the show in 20 minutes. The only two guys worth pressing play for were Blake Lewis and Chris Sligh (Chris Richardson is cute but boring). Blake took me by surprise last night because I don’t think I heard anything but beat-box from him up until that point, plus he’s definitely the cutest guy in the top 12. As for Chris, I just like him because he has an interesting personality and seems like a really nice person. I hope they both go far.

At one point one of the contestants got on and started singing about something, I really can’t remember what song or who it was now, but there was a reference in the song about being boring and I told Joe that Simon would totally pick that line to rip the guy a new one and he sure did. I could not stop laughing. Oh Simon, you are the best!

The top 12 girls are on tonight. I really hate Antonella. You may remember her as one half of the best friend duo. She seems full of herself while trying to put on an act like she cares. It was awful how her and her best friend screwed over Bailey when rehearsing for the group singing during Hollywood week. Bitches. I am glad Antonella’s b/f didn’t get through after she spent so much time flirting. Plus she denied it as if there wasn’t footage to prove her a liar. What a tool. To take what could be your one shot and to blow it by goofing off? When will those people ever learn? Well, she got what she deserved, didn’t she? Hopefully someone in the girls will stand out. So far I like Gina and Jordin.

The Sarah Silverman Program

I don’t know what possessed me to watch the new Comedy Central program, The Sarah Silverman Program. Perhaps it was all the positive reviews it’s been getting. Honestly, I cannot stand Sarah Silverman as a comedian. I think she does things merely for shock value and her jokes aren’t funny at all; however, so far her show is. Even though she has a rather annoying high-pitched voice, it works for her “character”. You almost think her narcissism is cute. Interestingly enough, the actress who plays her sister in the show is her real life sister. So weird. But so funny. You should check it out.

24: 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Finally, a kick-ass episode (actually two) of 24! Jack got some kills in and we saw a lot of exciting action. I’m really stumped as to why Morris created a device that actually worked, however. Was there no way for him to fake it and just make them think it armed the nuke? That part just seemed weird, similar to how he was able to work after having a hole put into his shoulder with that power drill. I’m surprised, but happy, he wasn’t killed.

When Jack burst in with that shotgun in the nick of time, hot damn, was that exciting! *Swoon* Notice how his hand was shaking when he was disarming the nuke? Some people are speculating that it was because he was scared but I think it had more to do with whatever screwed up his hand when he was in prison. Notice the skin looks strange on that hand like it was burned with acid.

Man, is Jack’s dad one evil son of a bitch or what? Poor Jack. And then dumbass Marilyn not warning Jack about what was going on and almost getting him killed. Nice one, bitch. Like she couldn’t have yelled when she kept getting interrupted? What did she think was going to happen? He’d go into the house and it would be empty or he’d interrupt a friendly game of Chutes and Ladders? Come on! She should have known better even if she was never involved in something like that before. Doesn’t she watch tv?

I’m just glad Phillip admitted to Marilyn that he killed Graem because that means Jack will find out eventually that he wasn’t responsible for his death. I found it odd how quickly that autopsy was done though. Also, could they not tell Graem had more of that drug in his body than Jack had ordered administered? Or do they not look for things like that? You’d think in that line of work they’d never make assumptions because things are often not what they seem.

Oh and I found it funny how Marilyn didn’t really give a damn that Graem was dead. It was like, “Oh good, I wanted to leave him anyway so thanks”. LOL!
