24: 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Crap, here it is a week later and I still didn’t write about the latest 24 episode. Sorry about that.

Jack Bauer is a pussy when it comes to his father. I don’t know why he doesn’t stand up to that asshole. He actually got on his knees, ready and willing for his dad to execute him. Not only that, but he apologized to him as well, for making him think that Jack had abandoned the family. Then he said he was ready. But the shot never came. So he turned around to yell at dear old dad, and he was gone. He left behind a cell phone with a number to call. Who was on the other end? Former President Logan. He wants to meet Jack. Where did Jack’s dad go so fast and did he ever intend to really shoot Jack like we were lead to believe, or was that a diversion from the very beginning? Why is his company so important he’d hurt everyone in his family? I don’t get it.

Oh yea, and they might blow up President Palmer, or so they have you believe. Tonight’s episode should be interesting.

24: 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Finally, a kick-ass episode (actually two) of 24! Jack got some kills in and we saw a lot of exciting action. I’m really stumped as to why Morris created a device that actually worked, however. Was there no way for him to fake it and just make them think it armed the nuke? That part just seemed weird, similar to how he was able to work after having a hole put into his shoulder with that power drill. I’m surprised, but happy, he wasn’t killed.

When Jack burst in with that shotgun in the nick of time, hot damn, was that exciting! *Swoon* Notice how his hand was shaking when he was disarming the nuke? Some people are speculating that it was because he was scared but I think it had more to do with whatever screwed up his hand when he was in prison. Notice the skin looks strange on that hand like it was burned with acid.

Man, is Jack’s dad one evil son of a bitch or what? Poor Jack. And then dumbass Marilyn not warning Jack about what was going on and almost getting him killed. Nice one, bitch. Like she couldn’t have yelled when she kept getting interrupted? What did she think was going to happen? He’d go into the house and it would be empty or he’d interrupt a friendly game of Chutes and Ladders? Come on! She should have known better even if she was never involved in something like that before. Doesn’t she watch tv?

I’m just glad Phillip admitted to Marilyn that he killed Graem because that means Jack will find out eventually that he wasn’t responsible for his death. I found it odd how quickly that autopsy was done though. Also, could they not tell Graem had more of that drug in his body than Jack had ordered administered? Or do they not look for things like that? You’d think in that line of work they’d never make assumptions because things are often not what they seem.

Oh and I found it funny how Marilyn didn’t really give a damn that Graem was dead. It was like, “Oh good, I wanted to leave him anyway so thanks”. LOL!

24: 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

Ahhh now this was more like it. Lots more Jack Bauer eye candy in this episode. And finally, another kill from Jack. What’s he up to this season now, three people? Lame!

I liked how even as Jack was ordering more pain inducing drugs, he still felt bad for his asshole brother and held onto him as if to comfort him while still demanding answers. I was disappointed he didn’t kill him after he confessed to ordering the hits on David Palmer, Tony and Michelle, however. I think Jack would have done it had his father not been there watching. That seemed to stop him dead in his tracks.

And I just knew dad was going to take out Graem! I just didn’t think it was because he was trying to cover his own ass! I genuinely thought it was because he realized how evil Graem was and felt he had to be stopped once and for all. Just wait until Jack finds out about dear old dad. Not that he’ll do much about it. I just can’t see him torturing his father, let alone killing him.

Let’s hope they let us in on all the back story with the Bauer clan, however. I want to know if it was the affair or something else that lead Jack to separate from dad and bro.

Oh and poor Morris … Joe was right that he’d be the one to reprogram the nukes, just not willingly. I wonder how they will coerce him. I hope they don’t end up killing him. I love that sarcastic fuck even if he still seems an unlikely match for Chloe.

Can we please bring back Audry already?! Sure she was annoying, turning her back on Jack in Season 4 when he needed her most, but they worked it out and he got whisked away to China before they could do so much as exchange I love yous. Jack needs something to look forward to and it better not be newly widowed bitchy blue eyes because she rubs me the wrong way. What she ever saw in Graem, and Jack ever saw in her, is beyond me.

24: 11:00 am – 12:00 pm

I wasn’t looking forward to writing this entry because I wasn’t really impressed with this episode. In fact, overall I’m not at all impressed with this season and I can’t quite put my finger on why. Theoretically this should be one of the best seasons because we’re digging into Jack’s family life more than ever, but it seems so wrong, I just can’t get into it. My favorite episode so far was when Jack went after the terrorist on the train.

And something isn’t right with CTU either. It’s pretty stiff and boring so far. I want, no, I need, a mole and I need it soon! Sure it’s cliche, but who cares? I think we’ll have one when the person to reprogram the nukes is introduced. Joe seems to think it’s Morris. Wouldn’t that be something?

And what was with that shit at the detention center? How does that guy get beat when FBI was supposedly keeping an eye on him? Total bull.

I’m just not feeling this season at all and it’s starting to bug me. I hope things improve soon. It’s still a great show, but it’s not living up to Season 5 in my eyes.

24: 10:00 am – 11:00 am

Holy crap, what happened last night? Jack’s brother is none other than President Logan’s puppet master from last season!?!? No way! Doesn’t that seem a bit far fetched? Here I was expecting Chad Lowe to show up. I bet the writers came up with this plot point after last season wrapped.

You just wait until Jack figures out that he got sent to China because of his own brother. He’ll do more than put a plastic bag over his head, that’s for sure. I’d like to see him have a nervous breakdown and literally tear the guy limb from limb. Notice Jack was quick to resort to violence with him to begin with? Is that because they have a rocky past or he has zero patience for bullshit after all he’s been through?

Also, it’s no coincidence that the kid looks like a product of an implied fling between Jack and Graham’s wife. He’s got the blue eyes, blonde hair and looks like Kim. Only time will tell if that’s intentional misdirection on the writers’ part. The time frame is rather interesting. The kid looks to be about 14. If that’s the case, and he is Jack’s son, that means Jack messed around on Teri before his separation and subsequent romance with Nina Meyers. Man, what a tangled web we weave! Perhaps Jack isn’t so morally superior after all hasn’t always stuck to his code of conduct.

You gotta love this dialog between Jack and his brother, though.

“I need some information. Are you going to give it to me or am I gonna have to start hurting you?” – Jack

“Actually…you’re hurting me now.” – Graham

“Trust me, I’m not.” – Jack

There’s certainly no love lost there. Poor Jack. Is he ever going to catch a break? I’d like to see them do a 24 movie when they’re ready to retire Jack; have his character find happiness that lasts more than a few hours. Perhaps become a regular citizen, and move the hell away from Los Angeles forever.
