We went to Wildfire for lunch today. The restaurant has an open kitchen which provides a front-row view of the chefs as they work the wood-burning oven and rotisserie and flip steaks on a huge blazing grill. The whole atmosphere is pretty cool with the art-deco look. It was busy, but didn’t feel crowded, and our booth was set higher than the tables which gave us a great view.
I ordered the filet medium with redskin mashed potatoes. When I don’t use steak sauce, that’s a damn good steak, and there was none used today. The potatos are made a little lumpy, which I love, and had the most fantastic flavor. I’m very picky when it comes to mashed potatoes too; I don’t like them at Red Lobster even. We shared a slice of banana cream pie for dessert and it was delicious too. There wasn’t anything I disliked about the place. We’ll be back.
