I knew CapitalOne would be worse than Discover as soon as they announced they were taking over. When I logged into my Discover this morning they prompted me to complete my setup on the CapitalOne website so afterwards I was exploring the site. Now some of the gift cards you can get with your cash back have NO extra value to them, AND you can’t select from amounts in increments of $5 – they have pre-set amounts of $25, $50, $100, and $200. I’m aggravated because I liked to get a gift card on the fly and for the amount just below the total I was going to spend so I could use it all up at once and not have to think about it again.
