Butterflies in the sky

Wow, six days of nothing but fun and relaxation are coming to a close. You know, it’s around day #4 that one begins to forget what it’s like to work for a living, and you become very accustomed to not having a set schedule. There are very few things that make me happier than being able to do what I want when I want with no real obligations. I especially love that lack of dread when I wake up in the morning because I don’t have to do anything if I don’t want to. But unless I win a huge sum of money right now, it’s back to work I go tomorrow.

We spent our last day of “freedom” at Brookfield Zoo so we could catch the Butterflies exhibit before it was closed for the season. I was browsing the zoo’s site last night and realized that if we visited the zoo just three times in a year (which is typical of us anyway), we’d save money by becoming members. So I signed up immediately. And of course now I feel all special because we’ll be invited to member only events and the like. I don’t know why I didn’t think of doing this before. There have been many a weekend where we contemplated going to the zoo, but once you add two adult admissions and the parking fee, the cost is $24, so we’d end up not going. Now that we’re members, I’m sure we’ll be going much more frequently which suits me fine because there’s nothing I love more than photographing animals.

That being said, the photos from today should be up in the next few days. I will try to work on the butterfly ones tonight if I can, but I’m getting pretty sleepy already, and now that I have to get up at 6 am, I’m less inclined to stay up until midnight. Any rich people out there want to give me a large donation so I don’t have to work anymore? Yea, that’s what I thought. :p
