Friends Coupling

So what do you guys think of that “new” show Coupling on NBC? I knew it was based off a British sitcom of the same name, but I didn’t know it was the same exact show, lines and all, until I caught the original on the BBC last week. Nevertheless, I think it’s pretty funny. However, I don’t see it as “the answer to Friends” as some have been saying. No show will ever replace Friends. It’s a one of a kind show; my favorite show of all-time, as noted by the fact that I watched 4 episodes today (6pm, 6:30pm, 7pm and 10pm). I’m really going to miss that show when it’s over … and I hope they wrap things up by bringing Rachel and Ross together because I like happy endings.

A funny thing I overheard at work the other day – “Why do all the Friends have to hook up? The show is called Friends, not Lovers.”

  1. I personally don’t really like Coupling. Granted I’ve only watched about 10 mins of one show, but I really didn’t find it too funny – almost like they were just trying too hard or something… I don’t know, just didn’t care for it. And I agree, Friends will be darn hard to replace.

  2. Ugh, I could only stand about 10 minutes of all the juvenile humor before I had to change the channel. I hope you don’t get too attached to it– I predict a cancellation in the very near future.
