Today I ordered a new lens for my camera. It was a tough decision because I don’t have the stomach to order something that costs as much as the camera itself, but I wanted something with a nice focal range for general purposes. I tend to favor telephoto over wide angle, so I got the Canon Zoom Wide Angle-Telephoto EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Image Stabilizer USM Autofocus Lens (as well as a lens hood and UV filter).
While the lens I chose is definitely not the best lens on the market, it’s good for the price, and it will work wonderfully for our trip in October. Hopefully by then I will have mastered it. I’m still very uncomfortable with this new camera. I know it can perform better than my old Nikon, it’s just learning how to get it to do so that is my problem. I have no issues with macro shots, it’s just everything else. I’m hoping the Image Stabilization will help out as I tend to avoid using a tripod like the plague. I’m just too lazy to be bothered.
