Speaking of gaming systems, we bought a used Nintendo 64 today and a couple of games. We got something called an expansion pack for the unit, and for some reason the girl who rang us up didn’t charge us for it. I don’t think it was a mistake because she had just finished installing the expansion pack right before ringing up our order. So we got the unit, the expansion pack, one controller and two games for $22.
I also bought an Atari game, Freeway, for 99¢ to test out the Atari 2600 my mom gave me this weekend. It had been in the basement with all the games we used to play so I took them home. We hooked the unit up today and Freeway works, as does one of the other games, but most of them don’t. The controller doesn’t work either. :p
We’re going to try cleaning the old games tomorrow to see if we can get them to work again. I hope so because I really miss playing Pengo and Frogs and Flies. I guess we’ll have to look at the used stores for a controller too.
We are well on our way to becoming gaming fanatics, although we really don’t play all that often. Our systems:
Atari 2600
Original Nintendo
Original Gameboy
Playstation 1
Nintendo 64
Playstation 2
Nintendo Gamecube
Yeesh. All we need now is a Sega and Xbox and we’ll be completely covered. ;)
I tease Scott about games because he has two or three systems in the house and one in his car, yet he never seems to play them. He, of course, swears up and down that he does when I’m not around, but I just don’t believe him!
