What a busy weekend! We had to drag the kids along on some errands yesterday, but we started out so early that we were done by 10:30 am. So then we took the kids to the nature center we like. One thing is for sure – the girl is terrified of bugs. She was very adament about never going back there again. Haha.
So we took them to a playground instead. You know, for as bad as the boy’s allergies and asthma supposedly are, he never has a problem running around outside for over an hour. Maybe he’s growing out of it. That would be nice because it opens up the possibility of places we can take the kids. I hate sitting around in the apartment on the weekends no matter the season, but I especially hate it during warm weather.
After we dropped the kids off at their grandparents’ this morning, we went to Joe parents’ house to clean the inside of my car. Boy did it need it! His mom made us breakfast – pancakes and sausage with maple syrup. Mmmmm … sooo good. Afterwards, we caught a 10:40 am showing of X2, which was really good. Definitely better than the first movie.
I really don’t care for the theatre in my old neighborhood. We saw X2 there today and I almost wished we hadn’t. It’s much smaller than our regular theatre, plus it smells funny. It didn’t help that some dumbass brought their toddler who decided to start crying during the climax of the movie, and instead of leaving, tried to reason with the kid. Have you ever tried reasoning with someone under the age of six? If I was sitting closer, I would have given that pathetic excuse for a parent a piece of my mind. Not only are they rude and inconsiderate to the other movie patrons, but what kind of person takes a toddler to an adult movie at 10:30 on a Sunday morning? Well I’ll let you answer that, as I’m sure we’d agree. I want someone to open up an adult-only theatre that doesn’t allow anyone under the age of 18 EVER. That would be heaven.
After the movie we went to a nature center. Unfortunately, it was very overcast so the photos were flat. I didn’t have a tripod, either, so many shots were blurry. I can’t bring myself to post a bad photo, so I can’t show you the photo I got of three herons/cranes/egrets whateverthehelltheywere because it’s awful. But whatever they were, they were all over the place. It was cool. One of these days I’ll get a good photo of them, especially since a white one has been seen near the creek by our apartment.
I think I hear another thunderstorm rolling in. What a good way to end the weekend.
our local theatre has a session set aside everyday called Mums and kids where parents can go and take their kids with them without having to worry about annoying everyone else. Gives them a chance to see the new movies without annoying the hell out of everyone else.
