I visit this website every day to check the latest drawings and was completely surprised by today’s edition. Funniest thing EVER! There aren’t a lot of things that make me laugh to the point of tears and lack of oxygen, but this struck my funny bone to the core and I had to share. It totally made my night. Go Fat Bob! LOL!

Blinds and Kitties
We didn’t do anything terribly exciting this weekend, but it was productive. We got a lot of errands done, including finally ordering new vertical blinds for the dining room. We’ve been wanting to replace them ever since we moved in.
One of the other things we did was torture ourselves. Or at least I tortured myself by dragging Joe to two different pet shops to look at animals we can’t get. I must be insane, right? I just can’t help it; I want a cute and cuddly pet! On Saturday we played with these cute ferrets at the Petco and this morning we saw the cats up for adoption at PetSmart. There were so many adorable cats ranging in ages from five months to two years old. There were at least four I would have easily taken home if I could. One was a black and white male who was full of energy, trying to swat at me whenever he could. Two were beautiful grey darlings who enjoyed licking my fingers. One was a white and tan longhair who was incredibly fluffy.
*Sigh* I love kitties!
Windy City sitcoms blow
How come there aren’t any good sitcoms based in Chicago? Every last one is a flop. I was so excited when Freddie first aired because I (thought I) liked Freddie Prinz Jr. But they didn’t do the city justice and the characters are lame.
So now there’s The Loop. You know how you can watch one episode and know the show is going to suck? Yea, that would be this show. First off, why that title? Just because the main character is a corporate drone? They focus more on the airport which is no where near the Loop. While I like the quirky characters (the main guy reminds me of Nick Swardson), it’s just not enough. I hate Mimi Rogers’ character in particular. The show is just goofy but not in an entertaining way like Scrubs. The best part of the show is the awesome shots of Chicago’s skyline. I think it will die a quick death, or at least I hope it does. Then again, I think Freddie is still on the air. :p
Massage
My employer invited a company to our office that offered 15-minute massages today for $13.50. Since I’ve never had a professional massage before (yes, you’re not the only one who was shocked to learn that), I decided to give it a try. The masseuse had this funky chair that I sat (kneeled on?) while she gave my neck and shoulders a beating. It was painful! Does that mean I’m too tense, or she sucked? Don’t know. I enjoyed the lower back rub, as well as her massaging my hands, but my neck still hurts a bit. Overall, I felt pretty good after the fact. I’d consider doing it again, although I think I’d prefer it more if the person wasn’t so rough and also if they were a man named Nick. (Inside joke.)
Dane Cook is coming to Chi-Town
See that guy to the left? Not only is he the funniest comedian around, but guess who is seeing him live next month? Yep, that would be Joe and me! I got an e-mail this morning from Dane’s mailing list announcing a Chicago show on April 13th at Allstate Arena. I was so excited, I almost couldn’t contain myself! The pre-sale was at 9 am and we managed to snag decent seats considering how much they were asking. I love Dane, but I couldn’t stomach spending $100 each to sit in 30th row. I’m afraid only Robert Smith can hold the honor of no price is too high. It cost over $100 as it is and we chose the second to cheapest ticket option. I just hope Dane has some new material. I assume so since he’s filming his HBO special in Boston just two days later. We’re way up in the balcony, but not too far from the stage.
I think I’ll bring the binoculars just in case. ;)
