5 4 Things

Shanni tagged me for this Meme I haven’t seen before. This one required a bit more thought than the last. In fact, I’ve been mulling this one over a couple of days now. I couldn’t decide if all my habits are weird, mundane, or insane. You decide.

1. At work, Outlook has to be the first program opened so it’s always the first program listed on the taskbar. If it get closed by mistake, I will immediately quit all other running programs even if I’m in the middle of something so I can restart it so it’s again “where it belongs”.

2. No matter how many times we watch The Wedding Singer, I always have to bitch and moan about the inconsistency of one scene where Robbie says, “That’s Julia’s jacket. She took it off at Insert-Name-Here Street. She said it’s not jacket weather anymore”. Why? Because it’s July-ish and it hasn’t been jacket weather for awhile. HELLO!

3. I have to keep the amount of used hard-drive space on the DVR below 30%. If it exceeds that number, I feel a pressing need to either watch what’s on the DVR or just delete some stuff to get it back below 30%. This is getting increasingly hard now that most of what we record is in HDTV and takes up more space. Incidentally, I have a similar obsession with my e-mail inbox at work. If there’s more than 20 messages in it I start to freak out and must do what I can to reduce that number before I can breathe easily again. I also have to clear out the computer’s trash can constantly.

4. I can’t sleep without first brushing my teeth. I used to think that was normal, but you’d be surprised how many people don’t brush their teeth before going to bed. Also, I really can’t go even a day without taking a shower. I feel completely dirty otherwise.

Ummm … I can’t think of anything else and I’m tired of this sitting in draft mode, so I’m sticking with 4 things. I will undoubtedly think of many more once this is published, I am sure of it. Oh well.

I tag the internet, so anyone is free to play along.

  1. You and I are alike, as far as item #1 goes! I have to have my programs in this order on workdays: Outlook (personal email), Outlook Express (work email), Internet Explorer, AIM. Really the 2 email ones are the most important… I guess I want to make sure I don’t mix up my personal and work email. Oh and in case you’re wondering why I use 2 separate programs for email… since I work from home I am fanatical about keeping my work stuff completely separate. I don’t want to be playing on my computer on the weekend and have work email suddenly invade my personal inbox. So the best way to do that is use different programs. That way on the weekend I don’t start Outlook Express (except on some Sunday evenings when curiousity gets the best of me and I look at my work inbox to see if Monday is going to be as bad as I think it is.)

  2. I like your new layout – looks good. I also always have to have Outlook open first on my toolbar! I just thought it was one of my “things”; I’m kinda OCD about certain parts of my life. :)
