Animal House

Uh-oh, I’ve finally entered the realm of not being able to keep track of what day of the week it is; it feels like Friday to me. I spend a good portion of the day with the kitties and Bella too since she feels so starved for attention with the kitties around. Much to my surprise my allergies haven’t been bothering me but my SIL’s are so these will be the only foster kitties we care for until she moves out. It’s probably for the best since we are keeping the kitties in the master bathroom most of the time due to Bella and the fact that they like to get into trouble. Last night once Joe was home we had all the animals roaming freely. Bella would get close and the cats would hiss and growl at her until she slunk away defeated. Myagi ended up behind the entertainment center and cut off power to the DVR and TV while we were watching it by stepping on the power strip button. Luckily we weren’t recording anything!

Sleeping Skipper

Skipper

If it wasn’t for my fear of my furniture being ruined I would love to keep Skipper because she is so tiny and you can tell from the size of her paws she isn’t going to get much bigger. She doesn’t actively seek out attention but if you put her on your lap she’s content to hang out for awhile. She reminds me of Joe’s parents’ cat (Kitty was her name) who lived until she was 23. She was tiny and a tabby as well.

Size comparison

Myagi, on the other hand, is going to be a big boy. You can tell by how large his paws are. Plus he likes to get into stuff a lot so I could see him destroying someone’s home. He already started chewing the loose contact paper on our crappy bathroom cabinet. I’m not so sure I could handle the idea of a cat having free reign over my house when I wasn’t home. It might depend on the cat but they are a lot more curious than Bella – she doesn’t mess with anything you leave out whereas the cats want to investigate it all. Plus they leave fur all over the furniture and our clothes.

On the flipside, the cats are more entertaining than Bella when they play. Bella only wants to play with a toy if you have it in your hand and she is trying to get it away from you. If you drop it she loses interest. Plus she doesn’t know how to play fetch. I’m trying to teach her but so far she doesn’t get it.

I have cat toys that I bought back when we had the pet rats: balls with bells inside, a laser pointer, and some ribbon that the kitties love to chase. Plus I bought one of those feather toys at Walmart on Tuesday which they love. I’ll be surprised if it has any feathers left on it by the weekend at this rate! But it’s so much fun so I don’t care.
