It’s funny, but the longer I blog, the harder I find it to create entries that don’t sound like “and then we did this, and then this, and then this”. So rather than fight it tonight, here’s my laundry list of events since the kids got here last night.
Friday evening – made homemade cheeseburger macaroni and both kids loved it. Score!
Friday night – introduced kids to the world of one of my favorite PS2 games, Burnout: Takedown. They are now both hooked and quite good at eliminating their racing competitors.
Friday night – tried to introduce kids to Peanut but she was having none of it. She refused to come out of her den for more than a few minutes. Once the kids went to bed, then she came out, but she was cranky. She tried to bite me a few times when I tried picking her up.
Saturday morning-ish – slept til noon. Really needed it too since I haven’t been sleeping well during the week for awhile now.
Saturday afternoon – took the kids to the pet store to buy a few things for Peanut. The boy was surprisingly ok around all the animals, and this pet store has it all: puppies, kittens, guinea pigs, ferrets, hamsters, gerbils, and all sorts of bids. They even sell some type of possum! I’m hoping this means he’s growing out of his allergies. We stopped at Blockbuster to grab a movie, then went through the McDonald’s drive-thru for ice cream.
Saturday evening – watched the movie we rented, Hoodwinked, which was better than I was expecting. I particularly loved the character of Twitchy the squirrel.
The kids are having their snacks and then in a bit I will see if maybe Peanut wants to visit with them before they go to bed. They are really excited to meet her so I hope she warms up to them soon.
It is tough to do that, isn’t it? I try to avoid it, but it’s not easy.
hey, what a coincidence! we had a red squirrel visitor once the kids named “twitchell”!
