2003: Year In Review

I’ve seen this on a couple of sites and while I don’t think my life is all that exciting, I did some fun things this year:

January
Quit the job from hell and left behind forever the bitchiest manager I’ve ever had.

February
Adjust a bit to my new job where I have no privacy but also not a ridiculous workload.

March
Order a kickass laser printer.

April
Work gets a lot more interesting since I’m learning new things and getting more responsibility. Get a very complimentary review from my boss.
Switch the hosting for this site.

May
One of the best movies of the Summer is released – Matrix Reloaded.
Go on a little vacation to Branson, Missouri, stopping in St. Louis on the way to see the Gateway Arch.
Find out my former employer finally hired a replacement for my old position. Well, make that two replacements. Ha!
Want to kill our upstairs neighbors with all the noise they are causing.

June
Go to Joe’s nephew’s high school graduation party in boofoo Illinois.
Visit the Chicago Botanic Garden.
Whole divorce thing starts to really stress us out.
The Cure releases Trilogy.
Joe’s camera gives us a little scare, but it all works out in the end.

July
Joe and I celebrate 2.5 years together.
We start playing tennis on a regular basis.
Joe’s niece flies down from Arizona to visit.
Neighborly situation gets resolved and we gain back some peace and quiet.

August
Go on a nice boat tour of the Chicago River and Lake Michigan.
Walmart damages my Jetta.
Trip to Ohio.

September
See the butterflies exhibit at Brookfield Zoo.
Spot a woodchuck in a local park (hey, it was interesting to me, ok?) :)
John Ritter passes away, which saddens me.
Day trip to Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

October
Visit
Lake Katherine Nature Center and come face to face with a Blue Heron.
Get the cutest I-love-you gift from Joe.
Joe’s divorce becomes final and we merge bank accounts.

November
My new Betta, Jake, dies while the kids are visiting for the weekend.
Visit Montrose Point in Chicago.
Buy another digital camera.
A part in my car starts to die but we figure out how to fix it for $5 and save ourselves $500 … so Joe buys a Playstation 2.

December
We lose the holiday decorating contest I was so sure we’d win.
We plan a trip for January and end up cancelling it.

Oh and somewhere in there I manage to lose a total of 20 lbs.

In all it’s been a fantastic year. Here’s to many more!

  1. Wow, congrats on the 20lb loss!! :) Sounds like an interesting year. I’d love to do the year in review thing, but every month of mine would say “Work, school, broke up with a guy, started dating a new guy”… Not so interesting ;)

  2. Holy shit, I didn’t even know you started a fitness blog. I knew you DID things, but I didn’t know you had a blog. My powers of observation are ASTOUNDING! Har.
